Minnesota Man Indicted for Allegedly Attempting to Lure Teen Girl for Sex in Atlantic City

The man allegedly tried to lure her to a hotel room for sexual intercourse in 2013.

A Minnesota man has been indicted for allegedly attempting to lure a 14- year-old girl to an Atlantic City hotel room for sexual reasons, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced on Wednesday.

Daniel P. Jorgensen, 30, of Minneapolis, was indicted on a count of second-degree attempting to lure or entice a child and a count of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact.

Jorgensen allegedly made contact with the girl on the internet and by cell phone, and encouraged her to come to Atlantic City where he was working as a musician and band manager on Aug. 29, 2013.

The alleged criminal sexual contact took place on an Atlantic City beach, and Jorgensen allegedly attempted to lure the girl to a hotel room to engage in sexual intercourse.

Bail was set at $100,000, cash or bond.

Second-degree crimes carry with them a potential penalty of 5-10 years in state prison. Fourth-degree crimes carry with them a potential penalty of 18 months in prison.
