A neighbor found the toddler alone outside and the caretaker unconscious and unresponsive, Brigantine police said.
BRIGANTINE, NJ — A Ventnor City woman was charged with endangering the welfare of a child after she got drunk and passed out while babysitting a toddler, Brigantine police said.
A Brigantine resident called police around 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 13 after seeing a toddler alone outside of their house. That resident recognized the toddler as a neighbor and brought them inside, finding the child's caretaker, later identified as 35-year-old Jena Davidson, unconscious and unresponsive, police said.
Police and EMS arrived to take the babysitter to the hospital, while officers and the neighbor watched the toddler until the child's parent came back, police said.
