JERUSALEM — Elana Abrams moved from New Jersey to Israel 10 years ago. She's saved many lives since then as a paramedic and emergency room nurse.
Jerusalem City Council honored Abrams and several first responders in June. Although Abrams, who grew up in Margate, knew about her recognition, she had no idea her parents would attend the meeting.
Abrams is a paramedic at the William H. Bloomberg Emergency Medical Station. She's also an emergency room nurse at Jerusalem's Hadassah Hospital.
