Upon arrival, Demunguia was located at the bottom of the interior staircase suffering from a gunshot wound to his torso, police said.

Further investigation into the incident revealed that Demunguia's 24-year-old ex-girlfriend, a resident of the apartment, was home at the time with an acquaintance, later identified as 25-year-old Devon Emfinger of Aberdeen, Md., police said.

The confrontation began when the ex-girlfriend and Emfinger were on the second floor of the apartment and they heard someone enter the front door. The female resident went downstairs when she was confronted with her ex-boyfriend, Demunguia, police said.

Demunguia proceeded up the stairs when he was subsequently shot in the torso. The woman resident was not injured.

On Friday, Emfinger turned himself in at Troop 3 where he was charged with reckless endangering and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court 3 and received a $22,500.00 secured bond.
