Ocean City High School Football Team Opens Season With Win Over Absegami

Andrew Donoghue threw for 94 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Ocean City High School football team to a 19-12 win over Absegami in the first game of the season Friday night, according to nj.com.
Braves quarterback Tyler Welch accumulated 115 yards through the air and had two touchdowns.
Absegami got on the board first, on a pair of touchdown passes from Welch to Vinnie Nelson in the first two quarters to go up 12-0.

Ocean City cut into that lead on a kickoff return by Jared Jones that made the score 12-6 just before halftime.

Donoghue’s two touchdown passes came in the second half.
In the third quarter, he connected with Owen Dierolf on a 25-yard pass. Donoghue’s PAT kick gave Ocean City the 13-12 lead.
Donoghue hit Christian Baumgardner with a 24-yard pass that resulted in a score in the fourth quarter.
