Ocean City Woman, Stockton Graduate Nearly Arrested for Photography in Bioko Island

An Ocean City woman and recent Richard Stockton College of New Jersey graduate recently recanted her trip to Bioko Island, where she was nearly arrested for exercising a journalistic right many Americans take for granted, The Press of Atlantic City reports.

Magdalena Kernan, 23, went to Bioko Island for three months where she worked as a program coordinator for the United Nations, a role which included the illegal activity of taking pictures, according to the report.

In one incident, she took pictures of an illegal meat trade involving government officials and was hit with a monkey, according to the report.
