Pedestrian Dies In Egg Harbor Township Crash: Police

Yoriana Alonso-Guzman, 35, of Atlantic City, died after getting hit by a car on the Black Horse Pike, police said.

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, NJ — A pedestrian died after getting hit by a car Wednesday night on the Black Horse Pike, police said. Yoriana Alonso-Guzman, 35, of Atlantic City, sustained fatal injuries.

The accident took place at 9:29 p.m. east of English Creek Avenue, police said. An 82-year-old woman from Egg Harbor Township was driving westbound when her car hit Alonso-Guzman, according to authorities.

Egg Harbor Township police identified the woman. Patch has chosen not to publish her name unless charges are filed.

The westbound lanes of the Black Horse Pike, between Ivins Avenue and English Creek Avenue, were shut down for about three hours so authorities could investigate and clear the scene. The Cardiff Volunteer Fire Company and NJ State Department of Transportation assisted.

Sergeant Larry Graham, Officers Patrick Daly, Robert Moran and Louis Poletis of the Traffic Safety Unit, and the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office are investigating the crash.
