Snatch Up Wildwood Deals for Pirate Events

So, who is this Captain Kidd anyway and why is Wildwood featuring pirate activities for kids in his honor? British privateer William Kidd, popularly known as Captain Kidd, was hanged for piracy and murder after capturing the Quedagh Merchant, an Indian vessel allegedly sailing under a French pass loaded with gold, jewels, silk, sugar and guns. While we don’t glorify the grisly, criminal actions of real pirates like Kidd, children love the pirates of storybooks who sail the high seas, bury treasure and seek adventure wherever it might be hiding. That’s the spirit of Wildwood’s Captain Kidd Weekend taking place May 2, 2015, and it’s an excellent option for things to do in North Wildwood NJ.

Captain Kidd Pirate Day offers a pirate costume parade starting on 26th Avenue and the boardwalk with a treasure hunt to follow at 19th Avenue and the beach in North Wildwood, New Jersey for children ages 12 and under. Looking for great Wildwood deals on motel stays? Many motels are offering specials specifically for this annual event. One of the top motels, the Matador Oceanfront Resort located at 16th Avenue and the Beach is offering a three-day/two-night stay from May 1-3, 2015, at a room rate of $258, including one breakfast for four with extra persons at $50 (Includes package) in an Ocean view room.
