Pleasantville Teacher Caught Using Racial Slur On Recording
According to the Press of Atlantic City, the school did not reveal what disciplinary actions had been taken.
PLEASANTVILLE, NJ — An adult at Pleasantville High School reportedly used a racial slur in class and was investigated, according to a report by the Press of Atlantic City.
The adult was a teacher at the school, according to a report by NJ.com.
“There was an incident that occurred at the Pleasantville High School that was brought to our attention by several students,” Acting Superintendent Karin Farkas told the publication. “The district has investigated the reports and the situation was addressed. We appreciate the diversity of the district’s students, staff, and community members and we will continue to ensure that every person is valued, respected, and has a voice.”

The audio recording, which was obtained by The Press, was nine seconds long and featured an adult voice saying, “Quiet. What I said was, ‘Is it OK if I use the word (racial slur)?’”
