2-Year-Old Dies After Found Unresponsive In Galloway Pool

The child was found unresponsive in a residential pool on South Pitney Road on Sunday.

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, NJ — Police are investigating the death of a 2-year-old child in Galloway Township. Police responded to a report of a missing child on South Pitney Road at about 8:34 a.m. Sunday morning.

After canvassing the area and calling in additional resources from the surrounding area, the child was found unresponsive in a nearby residential pool, Galloway Township police said Sunday evening.

Patrol officers and EMS administered CPR to the child and then transported the child to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Mainland Campus. Despite efforts by all involved, the child passed away.

No details on the child's identity were released. The matter is currently under police investigation.

The Galloway Township Fire Department, Galloway Township Ambulance Squad, Stockton University police, Absecon police, the Atlantic County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit and New Jersey State Police Aviation Unit all responded to assist on the scene.
