He initially convinced her to invest $18,000 in an entertainment production company he said he and two of his friends owned. He promised her a 25-percent return on her investment.

In the ensuing two months, he pressured her to invest an additional $215,000, continuing to promise she would get the money back with a 25-percent profit. Ultimately, he resorted to threats against the victim and her family to obtain money.

Meanwhile, he gambled hundreds of thousands of dollars in Atlantic City casinos.

After a few weeks, the woman asked White about the money. He replied that people had been arrested and $40,000 was confiscated by police because his two friends had used the money to buy drugs.

He continued to promise that the victim would get her money back with interest, but convinced her that if she didn’t give him more money, she would be arrested.

She then obtained $50,000 from her parents and gave it to White.

He then began to ask about her parents, including where they live. He threatened to burn down their house if he didn’t continue to get money.

After White assaulted her by punching her in both legs, she reported him to New Jersey State Police.

White has been in trouble with law previously.

In 2012, White was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance suspected to be rock cocaine.

In June of this year, two months before being convicted in Atlantic County, White surrendered to Princeton Police and paid off an $81 warrant out of Hamilton Township on unspecified charges, according to a police report posted on Princeton Patch.
