Residential Development Group Purchases Shuttered Atlantic Club

Pennsylvania-based Endeavor has agreed to buy the closed casino from TJM Properties, The Press of Atlantic City reports.

A residential home for senior citizens may soon occupy the space where the Atlantic Club once stood, The Press of Atlantic City reports.

Pennsylvania-based Endeavor, a developer responsible for mixed-use residential projects and housing for senior citizens, has agreed to buy the former casino for a price that has yet to be disclosed, according to the report.

Richard Stockton College of New Jersey analyst Dr. Richard Posner told The Press he believes the building could become residential housing for senior citizens.

The hotel opened in 1980 as the Golden Nugget, and became known as The Atlantic Club in 2012. It was the first Atlantic City casino to close last year, leaving 1,600 people out of work.

TJM Properties bought the Atlantic Club in March of last year, two months after it closed. The sale to Endeavor was reported on Tuesday night.
