Revel Announces Hotel Will Close Sept. 1; Casino to Close Sept. 2

Revel was previously said to be closing Sept. 10. That changed on Friday, according to The Press of Atlantic City.

The Revel will close its hotel on Sept. 1 and the casino on Sept. 2, The Press of Atlantic City reports.

The news comes one day after casino workers protested a pair of appearances by Gov. Chris Christie on Thursday. It was previously announced the Revel would close on Sept. 10 if no buyer emerges.

The closing of the casino translates into about 3,100 lost jobs.
