A patrol officer saw a dark blue Lexus speed through a red light at the intersection of Tennessee and Atlantic avenues at about 9:45 p.m. the night of the incident, according to the reports.
The officer followed the car as it weaved in and out of traffic "at a high rate of speed," according to 101.5. Another cop radioed in and said the car almost struck his patrol car head-on, the report said.

At that point, the officer turned on his emergency lights and tried to pull over the Lexus, which did not stop and instead blew through another red light at the intersection of Arkansas and Baltic avenues and made its way onto the Atlantic City Expressway, 101.5 reported.
The officer gave up the pursuit but was able to get the vehicle's registration information, and another cop called Holmes on his cell phone, according to BreakingAC.
Holmes said that he was waiting for a ride and that he was "a little sauced," BreakingAC reported. He said that his niece was driving the Lexus but did not give her information or share where she was located at the time, the report said.
And video surveillance from the Pleasantville Toll Plaza showed a Black male talking on his cell phone and driving the Lexus, according to 101.5. Holmes is Black.
Cell phone records also corroborate the movement throughout the city, BreakingAC said.
Holmes pleaded not guilty, BreakingAC reported, and his attorney told the outlet that he will present evidence that will clear his name.
