South Jersey Food Bank's Diaper Drive Returns To Aid Families

The Community FoodBank of New Jersey is collecting diapers, wipes, creams and incontinence products in Egg Harbor Twp.

EGG HARBOR TWP., NJ — The Community FoodBank of New Jersey has launched its sixth annual #GreatBigDiaperDrive, with collections running now through the first week of November.

The drive is being led by Women Fighting Hunger, a CFBNJ volunteer group, and is aimed at helping families facing diaper need.

According to the Community FoodBank of New Jersey, the drive is intended to support the 1 in 2 families who struggle to afford diapers. Individuals and organizations are invited to contribute either products or cash donations during the campaign.

The drive is collecting diapers in all sizes, with sizes 4, 5 and 6 listed as the most needed. The food bank is also seeking baby wipes and creams, along with adult incontinence products.

“Families often face the difficult choice between buying diapers and putting food on the table,” said Kathy Corbalis, South Jersey chair of Women Fighting Hunger. “In addition to the health risks for babies who are not kept clean and dry, a lack of diapers can prevent parents from working or attending school, as childcare providers require families to supply diapers for their children.”
