Stafford Township Police Arrest Galloway Woman After Traffic Stop

Genevive M. Kersey had a suspended driver's license, an active warrant, and marijuana in her car.

Stafford police recently charged a Galloway Township woman with numerous violations after a motor vehicle stop on Route 72 West, Captain Thomas J. Dellane said.

Police stopped Genevive M. Kersey, 35, Hayes Avenue, Galloway, at 11:31 p.m. on Dec. 5 near the Garden State Parkway. They determined Kersey was driving with a suspended driver’s license and had a $500 active warrant from Absecon Municipal Court, he said.

Further investigation revealed Kersey was also in possession of marijuana. She was taken to police headquarters and charged with driving while suspended, maintenance of lamps, operating a motor vehicle while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of marijuana, Dellane said.

Kersey was released with a Dec. 19 court date set in Stafford Township Municipal Court. Patrolman Povlosky was the arresting officer. He was assisted by Patrolman Costello and Patrolman MacFarlane.
