Stockton's Rankings Increase In Latest U.S. News List
Stockton University is one of the top 100 public national universities, according to the newest U.S. News & World Report college rankings.
GALLOWAY, NJ β Stockton University is cementing its place among the best colleges in the nation, according to the latest U.S. News & World Report College Rankings.
The university jumped to No. 84 among the Top 100 Public National Universities in the 2024 rankings.
Stockton ranked 84 out of 227 public colleges and universities in the nation and No. 159 of 436 on the Best National Universities list.

This is Stocktonβs second year in a row in the national rankings. Previously, Stockton was included on the top 10 Best Regional Universities-North.
Stockton also jumped 49 spots to No. 26 this year among the Top Performers on Social Mobility β National Universities. This category highlights schools that actively and effectively enroll and graduate large proportions of economically disadvantaged students awarded Pell Grants.

Recently, Stockton was also acknowledged by the New York Times' College-Access Index this month, which ranks Stockton as No. 11 for the share of first-year, first-time students receiving Pell Grants out of the nationβs 286 most-selective colleges. Stocktonβs share of Pell-eligible students has not changed since 2011, demonstrating Stocktonβs continued commitment to helping all students pursue a degree, according to a university news release.
βThese rankings make clear Stockton University is a place where everyone belongs,β President Joe Bertolino said. βFor more than 50 years, Stockton has been dedicated to helping students pursue their college dreams. Considering we have some of the best four- and six-year college graduation rates in the state, we are delivering on our promise.β
Bertolino said Stockton prides itself on providing a quality education that is both affordable and accessible to a diverse population of students. This includes the Stockton Promise and Garden State Guarantee initiatives that help lower-income students receive free tuition and fees, and enhanced student services programs that help students take advantage of all the opportunities the university offers outside of the classroom, including internships, research and travel.
Stocktonβs current student body is the most diverse in the universityβs history, with 41 percemt of students identifying as minority or multi-race, Bertolino said.
βWe recently opened the Multicultural Center, adding to our collection of spaces to better serve our students, along with the Womenβs, Gender and Sexuality Center and the Veteranβs Success Center. Building the spaces is not enough β we must continue to develop and implement the programming and provide the resources needed to help our students feel supported and have a sense of belonging,β he said.
Stockton continues to be recognized as one of the Best for Veterans National Universities and Best Value National Universities by U.S. News & World Report.
Additionally, Stockton was included this year in The Wall Street Journal Best College Rankings for 2024, Washington Monthlyβs 2023 National University Rankings, The Princeton Reviewβs βBest Regional Colleges,β the Forbes βAmericaβs Top Collegesβ listing, Military Timesβ βBest for Vets: Colleges,β and Money magazineβs βBest Colleges for Your Moneyβ 2023 edition.
