Suspect Robbed Hotel to Feed His Family: Cops

The suspect robbed the Red Roof Inn on Absecon Boulevard early Wednesday morning.

Absecon Police are searching for a man who allegedly held up a clerk at the front desk of a hotel because he “needed to feed his family.”

The suspect allegedly entered the Red Roof Inn located at 405 Absecon Boulevard through the front door early Wednesday morning and threatened the front desk clerk with a black and silver handgun handgun, police said.

“I don’t want to shot you but I need to feed my family,” the suspect allegedly told the clerk, who then turned over about $400 in cash.

The suspect then allegedly ran out the front doors and left the area in a dark colored sedan traveling east on Absecon Boulevard.

The suspect is described as a black man with a deep voice, approximately 6’2” with dark colored eyes, wearing a black ski mask, dark green hooded sweatshirt dark colored gloves and dark colored cargo style pants.
