Teens Steal Car, Joyride To Atlantic City: Report

The suspects fled the car, and the driver has not been found, police told the Press of Atlantic City.

Pleasantville police found teens joyriding in a stolen car during a chase that took them to Atlantic City, Captain Matthew Hartman told the Press of Atlantic City. The suspects fled the vehicle on foot after striking several cars Monday morning, police told the Press.

Everyone in the car was caught except the driver, police told the Press. Police observed a red Subaru reportedly stolen from Somers Point in the intersection of West Jersey Avenue and Main Street at about 9 a.m., authorities told the Press.

The pursuit began after the driver failed to stop for officers, police told the Press. The teens struck a parked car on Mississippi Avenue and Arctic Avenue in Atlantic City, authorities told the Press. They continued driving until hitting another car on Arctic and Florida Avenue before bolting on foot, police told the Press.

The car had four people, and two males and one female by apprehended, police told the Press. The 16-year-old girl of Somers Point, 17-year-old boy from Mays Landing and 17-year-old male from Egg Harbor Township were charged with joyriding, according to the Press.

Pleasantville police and the Atlantic City Police Department Patrol and K-9 personnel conducted a search for the driver, authorities told the Press.
