Stockton Basketball Player Nets 1,000th Point in Win

Lauren Alwan scored her 1,000th career point with 18 seconds in the Ospreys' win over Eastern University.

A Timber Creek High School alum from Cherry Hill scored her 1,000th career point in The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey women’s basketball team’s 65-61 win over Eastern University in the consolation game of the Scranton Hill Poinsettia Classic.

Lauren Alwan scored her 1,000th career point by hitting a pair of free throws with 18 seconds left, according to the report posted on the college’s website. She is the 12th Stockton player to hit the 1,000-point plateau.

Alwan had 14 points, three rebounds, three assists and four steals.

For the season, she’s averaging 12.4 points per game, has 70 rebounds, 20 assists and 24 steals.

Stockton improved to 8-3, and returns to action Jan. 7 at New Jersey City University.
