There’s a whole lot more to Wildwood NJ than just enjoying the beautiful beaches and the boardwalk. The area has become one of the top vacation spots in the U.S. because of the history and culture that the island offers—not to mention the fun! If you’d like a little help with what to do in Wildwood NJ, here’s an itinerary for a day of fun to get started.
What to Do in Wildwood in a Day
Stop 1. Wildwood Farmers Market
Start your day off the freshest way possible at the Downtown Wildwood Farmers Market. Every Saturday during the summer months from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., rain or shine, you’ll find some of New Jersey’s freshest fruits and vegetables, plants, nuts, local honey, baked goods, meats and cheese, herb mixes, local wines, craft beers and so much more! Located at 3501 Pacific Avenue (on the corner of Schellenger & Pacific Avenues), the market offers a real treat for anyone to walk through with live music pumping and family entertainment to keep the kids happy. Plus, there’s free parking available behind the market—all you have to do is head to the vicinity of the Wildwood Farmers Market and enter on Schellenger or Oak Avenues.
Stop 2. Boardwalk Mall
Looking for somewhere to get your shopping fix out of the way? Need a place to head to on a rainy summer day? The Boardwalk Mall is a seasonal air conditioned mall with more than 25 unique stores open from May to October at 3800 Boardwalk. This shopper’s paradise offers something for everyone from women’s, men’s and children’s clothing to beachwear, souvenirs and accessories to memorabilia and collectibles. The mall has three levels, and whatever you and the family are looking for, you’re bound to find it here—many times for a deal or bargain! If you like to visit some stores that sell more than just typical beach tees with decals, and see some other unique shops, the Boardwalk Mall is well worth it.

Stop 3: Doo Wop Preservation League
What makes Wildwood so popular and renowned is its rich history, and the Doo Wop Preservation League has helped to keep some of the traditions alive. Formed in 1997 by some Wildwood business owners, architecture lovers and kitsch buffs with a commitment to Wildwood’s past and future, the league has validated the Wildwoods with having the largest collection of mid-century commercial (or “Doo Wop”) architecture in the nation! When you’re wondering what to do in Wildwood NJ, you can’t help but come across the 1950s-era resort motels, restaurants, diners and vintage neon signs. The Doo Wop Preservation League works hard to keep the architecture and spirit of Doo Wop alive in the Wildwoods. Be sure to check out the New Doo Wop Museum. A partial reincarnation of the Surfside Restaurant, this museum is lit up with bold blue neon bulbs and is packed with cool artifacts and remarkable historical information.
There are plenty of ways to create a day of fun in Wildwood NJ, and this is just one to-do list to help you out. With the beautiful beaches, legendary boardwalk and potential to make lifelong memories, there’s no way to go wrong!
