What do you Want to See Put on the Lenox China Property?

A lot has been said about development in Galloway, including the Lenox property. What would you like to see in this spot?

The subject of development was broached once again during the Council meeting on Tuesday night, April 24. Deputy Mayor Tony Coppola spoke about the Route 30 corridor and the abandoned Lenox China property.

He reiterated his comments made to Galloway Patch last month about tax and pilot programs.

"People come up to me and tell me they've heard it all before about development. I've been asked what makes it different this time?" Coppola said."We now have real incentives. Tax abatements have never been offered before.

"It's a lot of work. It doesn't happen overnight, but our Township Planner Tiffany Cuviello's been working on it."

Lenox China produced ceramics in Galloway Township for about 53 years, from 1953-2006, when it closed. It has remained vacant since its closing.

In March of this year, prevented at the vacant building in less than a week.

Council has discussed bringing in various types of businesses into the township, including big name businesses and box stores. Coppola previously stated he would like to see another type of factory in the vacant building, as it is already set up for manufacturing.
