Whiz Kid’s Accomplishment: Madison Ibone is only 7 years old and she is a straight-A student in third grade. She has never had a grade lower than an A-, and she tests in the top 10 percent in state standardized testing.

Whiz Kid’s Keys to Awesomeness:

Madison Ibone’s mother, Kimann, knew there was something special about her daughter at an early age, but when she took her to enroll in preschool, she was surprised to learn Madison Ibone would be sent directly into first grade at the age of four years old.

Since then, she has tested in the 90^th percentile in state standardized testing, never received a grade that wasn’t an A, and has the second highest set of grades in the third grade at the Highland Academy.

“She excels in math,” Kimann Ibone said. “She excelled at home when she was very young. She knew the alphabet and Math, and the next thing to teach her was reading. She picked reading up quick.”

When Kimann brought her daughter in to enroll in preschool, those who tested her at the Highland Academy moved her directly into the first grade.

“She’s easy to teach,” Ibone said. “She soaks everything up.”

Her teachers have already said she’ll be moving on to the fourth grade in the fall.

Madison Ibone is also a cheerleader.

“It’s not the rah-rah type of chearleader,” Ibone clarified. “She does tumbling and she does tucks, which is amazing for someone who is 7 years old.”

She is an all-star cheerleader, and she competes all over the East Coast.

She also sings and performs in plays. She is currently preparing to star as Pepper in Annie.
