1 Killed When Car Crashes Into Tree In Gloucester Township: Cops
A car crashed into a tree near the Blackwood Post Office early Saturday morning.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — One person was killed in an accident near the Blackwood Post Office on Davistown Road early Saturday morning, Gloucester Township police said. Police received a 911 call at about 1:29 a.m. concerning a possible accident with entrapment. Arriving officers found a car flipped on its roof in the front yard of a house on the 200 block of Davistown Road.
The driver had been thrown from the car and was found near a tree that had been knocked over by the car, police said. The driver was pronounced dead on the scene. Their identity has not been released, pending notification of next-of-kin. There were no passengers.
Gloucester Township Fire Departments station 84 and 86 were on location along with Gloucester Township EMS and Virtua Paramedics. Davistown Road was closed for approximately four hours as the Gloucester Township Police Serious Crash Investigation Team (SCIT) began their investigation of the crash.

“While the cause of the crash is still being investigated, we would like to remind drivers and passengers to always wear their seatbelts, obey the posted speed limits, don’t drink and drive and avoid distractions while driving,” police said in a statement.
