GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Ten more Gloucester Township residents have tested positive for coronavirus, Camden County officials announced Sunday night.
As of Sunday, there are 4,179 confirmed positive cases of coronavirus in the county, with 218 fatalities. No deaths related to the virus were announced in the county this weekend.
“Today, I want to take a moment to reflect upon all of the Camden County residents whose families have lost a mother or grandmother during this pandemic,” Camden County Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli Jr. said. “Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers, especially today, and that we wish your family peace during these unprecedented times. On this very unusual Mother’s Day, I hope that families throughout Camden County have found safe, responsible ways to celebrate and show their loved ones how much they are valued. As we continue to experience holidays under stay-at-home orders, the urge to skirt restrictions and ignore social distancing guidelines will only grow stronger. Our community has done an incredible job thus far at adhering to the governor’s orders and working to keep one another safe. Especially on days like today, when we typically gather with older, more vulnerable family members, please continue to take this threat seriously and gather virtually or via other methods that allow you to maintain appropriate social distance.”
