10 New Gloucester Township Coronavirus Cases As County Hits 7K

Ten new cases of coronavirus were identified in Gloucester Township as the total number of cases countywide hit 7,000 on Friday.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Ten Gloucester Township residents were among 56 additional cases of the coronavirus that were announced in Camden County on Friday.

No new deaths were announced, but the total number of cases countywide has hit 7,000 with 343 confirmed deaths. It is the eighth consecutive day the county recorded less than 10 new cases of the coronavirus.

“We are wishing a fast and full recovery to the 56 individuals newly confirmed to have contracted this disease in Camden County, as well as everyone else still combating COVID-19 possibly weeks after their initial diagnosis,” Camden County Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. said. “Today we reached 7,000 total confirmed cases of coronavirus in Camden County since the start of this pandemic. The good news is that the vast majority have recovered or are recovering. Unfortunately, we still have a long way to go in this fight, and the threat of COVID-19 will linger until we have a widely available and rigorously tested vaccine. To save lives and prevent others from getting sick, we must continue to social distance, wear a mask in public, and stay home if you are exhibiting any symptoms.”

In Gloucester Township, there were 635 cases of the coronavirus and 18 confirmed deaths as of Friday.

According to the Camden County Department of Health, there are 1,195 cases among residents at the county’s 56 long-term care facilities with 257 confirmed deaths. Another 445 staff members at these nursing homes have tested positive for the coronavirus with three deaths.

The following information is available about the newest cases in Gloucester Township:

  • Two women in their 50s;
  • A man in his 50s;
  • A woman in her 20s;
  • Two men in their 70s;
  • A man in his 60s;
  • A woman in her 80s;
  • A man in his 80s; and
  • A woman in her 30s.
