2 Gloucester Twp. Men Die Of Coronavirus; 33 New Cases Reported

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Two more Gloucester Township residents have died after testing positive for the coronavirus, Camden County officials announced on Tuesday.

The two men, both in their 70s, were among 13 new deaths related to the coronavirus that were announced among Camden County residents on Tuesday.

There were also 33 new Gloucester Township residents who tested positive for the coronavirus, according to officials. As of Tuesday, 2,426 Gloucester Township residents have tested positive for the coronavirus and 74 have died since the beginning of the pandemic.

Countywide, 22,346 residents have tested positive for the coronavirus and 649 have died, according to numbers provided by the Camden County Department of Health.

In addition to the two Gloucester Township men, the following information is available about the most recent coronavirus deaths in Camden County:

• A Haddonfield woman in her 80s;
• A Haddon Township woman in her 70s;
• A Camden City man in his 50s;
• A Voorhees man in his 80s;
• A Winslow man in his 90s;
• A Lindenwold man in his 60s;
• A Bellmawr man in his 80s;
• A Mount Ephraim man in his 90s;
• A Winslow man in his 70s;
• A Cherry Hill woman in her 80s; and
• A Runnemede man in his 80s.

“Our thoughts and are with the families of 68 Camden County residents who been lost to this disease over the last 30 days,” Camden County Director Louis Cappelli Jr. said. “Even with a vaccine on the horizon we have to fight this disease until the bitter end. Do not let your guard down, do not get complacent. We can save lives with actions as simple as wearing masks and social distancing.”

The Department of Health announced 269 additional cases of the coronavirus among Camden County residents. Trace investigations are underway in all new cases.

The Department of Health also announced that 1,741 residents in the county’s 56 long-term care facilities have tested positive for the coronavirus since the pandemic began, and 362 have died. Among staff members at these facilities, 863 cases and three deaths have been reported.
