2 Juveniles Charged With Car Theft In Gloucester Township: Police
A resident called police after seeing people trying to get into cars on Friday night, leading to the arrest of two teen boys, police said.
GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Two juveniles face burglary charges after a neighbor saw them trying to break into cars in Gloucester Township, police said.
The resident reported three suspects, dressed in dark clothing, testing door handles of vehicles parked in the Blackwood Estates Subdivision at 11:19 p.m. on Friday. Police arrived and the suspects ran through neighboring yards, according to a news release.
Officers caught two of the suspects after a short foot chase, a news release said. The suspects had items in their backpacks and on their persons that belonged to area residents, police said. Officers found other items on nearby streets that they believe to be from other burglaries.

Police arrested a 15-year-old boy from Blackwood and a 16-year-old boy from Clementon in connection with the crimes. The teens were released to family members pending Family Court hearings, police said.
Police said they connected the suspects to five vehicle burglary attempts, and one burglary and theft.

The 15-year-old faces third-degree burglary, fourth-degree criminal attempt (burglary), and fourth-degree theft of credit cards charges, police said. The 16-year-old was charged with fourth-degree criminal attempt (burglary), police said.
