2023 Election Results: Gloucester Twp. Council, Board Of Education

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — The Democratic slate for Gloucester Township Council holds advantages with almost all local precincts reporting on Election Night.

Ballot counts also carried into late Tuesday night for the Gloucester Township Board of Education race and in a tight State Legislature election that features a local council member.

The Democratic council candidates received roughly 8,000 votes each as of 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, while their Republican foes generated about 6,000 votes apiece. Forty-two of the township's 45 precincts have completed vote totals.

Meanwhile, three seats were up for grabs on the Gloucester Township Board of Education. As of 11:45 p.m., the leading candidates were Mary Jo Dintino (6,257 votes), Mary Ann Johnson (5,619) and Susanne Galanek (5,438).

Jarod Thomas trailed with 5,023 votes, followed by Dana Hendry (4,961) and Ellen Reese (4,600).

The Black Horse Pike Board of Education election is uncontested, with Kevin Bucceroni, Martita Diamond and Shawn Hutchison running for the three available seats.

Township Council Member Dan Hutchison is also running as a Democrat for State Assembly in District 4, which includes Gloucester Township. The race remained competitive late Tuesday night.

Hutchison (28,525 votes) and running mate Cody Miller (28,183) held a slight edge as of 11:45 p.m. against Republican candidates Amanda Esposito (25,880) and Matthew Walker (25,137). Ninety-seven percent of votes have been counted in the race, according to the Associated Press.

All Election Night results remain unofficial until certified on a later date.
