The three images attached to this post are of wind damage in the Old Orchard neighborhood in Cherry Hill. They were provided by resident Todd Myer.
The outages are due to severe thunderstorms that hit the area Monday evening. Upwards of 80 mph wind gusts were detected with the storm, and the National Weather Service warned those who were outside to beware of flying debris.
"Mobile homes will be heavily damaged," the National Weather Service said. "Expect considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles. Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely."
A flash flood watch is in effect until 8 a.m. Tuesday morning. The storms were expected to help break up the intense heat wave that struck the region over the past few days.
