3 South Jersey Motor Vehicle Centers Closed Due To Coronavirus

Two centers in Burlington and Camden counties will remain closed through the end of October, while the third will reopen Friday.

NEW JERSEY — Three regional New Jersey Motor Vehicle Centers (NJMVC) in Burlington and Camden counties are closed after employees at those facilities contracted the coronavirus, NJMVC announced.

The MVCs in Springfield and Delanco in Burlington County and Runnemede in Camden County each had one employee test positive, according to officials.

The Springfield MVC will reopen on Friday, while the other two will reopen the final weekend of the month. Delanco will reopen on Oct. 24, and Runnemede will reopen on Oct. 26, according to officials.

Delanco Road Test Operations are in a separate facility and will remain open. The centers will be cleaned and remain closed until contact tracers have cleared enough employees to reopen or any required quarantine is complete, officials said.

In total, seven MVC Centers are currently closed due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19 at each location. The other four centers that are closed are in Eatontown, Paterson, North Bergen and Newark.

None of these centers have experienced what is classified as an outbreak, officials said. The employees didn’t contract the virus while in an MVC facility, officials said.

“We are proud of this record and will continue to follow our strict guidelines,” officials said in a statement.

Customers can find alternate centers to visit on the MVC’s Facilities Location page. Customers can also use the MVC’s Online Services page to conduct transactions like license and registration renewals online.
