42 Former Dropouts Receiving Diplomas, Thanks to CCC Program

Camden County College Gateway to College graduation is June 23.

Camden County College’s Gateway to College Program will award diplomas to 42 former high school dropouts from Camden and Pennsauken at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, in the Camden Conference Center of CCC’s Camden City Campus.

Gateway to College offers a second opportunity for students from Camden and Pennsauken, all aged 16 to 20 and all of whom left high school before graduating, to earn their diplomas. They also are able to get a head start on college credits in a collegiate environment that includes extracurricular activities.

Gateway to College partners with the Camden City Public Schools District, the Pennsauken Public Schools District and the Gateway to College National Network. The National Network includes 125 school districts and 43 colleges in 23 states and is the beneficiary of Gates Foundation funding.

During Tuesday’s ceremony, Camden County College President Raymond Yannuzzi will deliver the keynote address to an audience that will include city and state officials along with dozens of family members and friends of the graduating students. Class speakers will be Aquasia Ellis and Camry Bryant. Recognized will be the winners of special awards for Most Persistent Student, Most Helpful Student, Most Resilient Students and Student with the Best Academic Performance.
