GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Six Gloucester Township residents were among 50 new cases of the coronavirus reported in Camden County on Wednesday. As of Wednesday, 8,031 Camden County residents had tested positive for the coronavirus, and there were 479 confirmed deaths.
“Today, Governor Murphy announced a new mandate requiring the use of face masks outdoors when social distancing is not possible,” Camden County Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli Jr. said. “We know that the wearing of masks is our best weapon in the fight against coronavirus. It is imperative that we all understand that the decision to wear a mask while in public is not a political statement, it is a public health decision that directly impacts the people around. This is a small sacrifice compared to the threat this virus poses to our community. Please, if you cannot maintain appropriate distance from others, even if you are outdoors, wear a mask or face covering to prevent the spread of COVID-19.”
Murphy told MSNBC's Morning Joe that face coverings are a "game-changer" and the policy has to change. The order, which he signed on Wednesday, comes after Patch released results of its survey that sought New Jersey residents' opinions on wearing masks. Read more here: Gov.
