Our US healthcare system is about a 3 trillion dollar business. That is the same amount as China's Gross Domestic Product or GDP. It is also has negative labor productivity that means that every dollar that we stick in health care it diminishes the GDP.
My pet peeve that I really do not understand is the website development of Healthcare.gov. We all know the problems that occurred in the beginning of enrollment . We have the smartest minds in the world in the US and a great pool of talent. Why were there problems with this website. The final days of enrollment I expected that with the traffic on the servers. But in the beginning we could have done a better job.
