I just wanted to point out back in 1935 when the Social Security Act became law there were certain employment sectors of the law that were excluded. These exclusions resulted in 2/3 of African Americans and 1/2 of women being excluded from Social Security because of the jobs they held. If you were in agricultural sector you were excluded from receiving benefits and many other sectors. It was not until several years later that the checks and balances done by Congress that many sectors were added to the law. Source Harvard School on Public Health.
