Tuesday June 6 is Primary Election Day in New Jersey. While the gubernatorial races garner most of the media coverage, the mayoral and council elections here in Gloucester Township are far more consequential to your daily life and to your bank account balance.
By now, hopefully you know the GT candidates on Tuesday’s election ballot.

If you dislike GT’s high taxes and wonder why the heck they keep going up, do you vote for the challengers who have a plan to control taxes, or do you vote establishment who raised your taxes?
If you see too much reckless spending around town (e.g. Heritage Park; $3.5 million borrowed and spent for artificial turf fields), do you vote for the challengers who will focus on smart spending, or do you vote for the establishment reckless spenders? (Heck, even if you’re okay with using tax dollars to borrow $millions for these fields, well, now you have them. It’s now time for GT to move forward with fiscal sanity.)
If you are sick and tired of seeing your GT government using tax dollars to repay connected pay-to-play political donors and enrich a political machine, do you vote for the challengers who have no such conflicts of interest? Or do you vote for the connected establishment who, year after year, awards government contracts to the connected pay-to-play firms.
So, it seems, your vote in Tuesday’s GT mayor and council Democrat primary is simple.
If you are one of those who is being enriched by the incumbent, establishment government; then sure, cast your vote accordingly.
For all the rest of us, cast your vote for the column 10 challengers who will honestly represent ALL of Gloucester Township.
