LINDENWOLD, NJ — One of the teens hurt after an SUV crashed into a group of walkers on Tuesday has been identified through a fundraiser online.
A 16-year-old boy has been charged with "joyriding," among other violations, after he drove onto a sidewalk and left six kids injured along E Gibbsboro Road.
The family of Nahum Ramirez asked for the community's help in rallying around their son to raise resources for his medical recovery.
"By an absolute miracle, Nahum survived the horrific impact, but he sustained serious injuries that will require a long and difficult recovery," his mother said in a message translated from Spanish to English.
The fundraiser has a goal of $18,000 and has raised $7,900 as of Friday afternoon.
"If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser and keeping Nahum in your thoughts and prayers," the family said, "Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love and support."
