Walter W. Widzin III, 30, of Pine Hill, was charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI), reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, and assault by auto.

Officers responded to a single-vehicle crash into a utility pole in Blackwood near N. Black Horse Pike and Clementon Avenue.

Authorities witnessed signs of suspected drug use, and McRae-Bell was taken to the hospital.

They also responded in Sicklerville to the area of Hickstown Road and Heatherwood Drive for a head-on collision.

Early evidence showed that one driver crossed the centerline and hit a vehicle that was going in the opposite direction.

Both drivers were injured.

Officials said they observed signs that Widzin may have been drunk.

An update on the status of both drivers' injuries was not immediately available.

Editor's Note: The story has been updated to reflect an adjustment issued by the Police Department to charges that were filed.
