Arrest Made In Gloucester Twp. Shooting

Saladin Stafford of Newark faces several charges that stem from the Aug. 5 incident, police said.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — A Newark man was arrested and charged in connection with an Aug. 5 shooting in Gloucester Township, police said.

Saladin Stafford, 34, was arrested in Riverside Township, Burlington County, on Aug. 22, according to police.

He was charged by Camden County law enforcement authorities with first-degree attempted murder, first-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and second-degree certain persons prohibited to possess a weapon, police said.

The Riverside Township Police Department separately charged Stafford with fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, law enforcement officials said.

Stafford was sent to Camden County Prison to await further legal proceedings, according to police.

The investigation into the Aug. 5 shooting began after police found a 34-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds inside a house on Hidden Drive in Gloucester Township, police said.
