Attempted Murder Charge In Shooting At Basketball Court: Camden Co. Officials

Officials charged the man after a two-month investigation into the shooting after a basketball game at a public court.

WINSLOW TOWNSHIP, NJ — U.S. Marshals arrested a man accused of attempted murder in a shooting at a public basketball court last fall, Camden County officials said.

Khadafy Jones, 35, of Sicklerville faces a first-degree attempted murder charge and weapons offenses charges for a Nov. 4 shooting that injured another man in Winslow Township, according to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Winslow Township Police Chief Donald Lemons.

Winslow Police said the victim was shot "multiple times" at the Sickler Avenue basketball court around 5:30 p.m. that day. Witnesses said there was a fight after a basketball game, which resulted in the shooting.

The victim drove himself to a hospital in Gloucester County and was listed in stable condition, police said on Nov. 5.

Officials charged Jones on Jan. 4 after an investigation, MacAulay and Lemons said.

The Marshals Regional Task Force arrested Jones in Sicklerville on Monday, Jan. 30, officials said. He was taken to Camden County Correctional Facility.
