BHPRSD Football Teams Battle For Playoff Spots This Weekend
All three teams remain in contention with one week left before the matchups are announced.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — With one week left before the cutoff date, all three Black Horse Pike Regional high school football teams are in position to make a playoff appearance. Timber Creek (7-0, 156 points) remains perched atop NJSIAA South Jersey Group 3, according to the power points standings released on Monday. Triton (3-4, 65 points) is in eighth place in Group 3, and Highland (4-3, 62 points) is in seventh place in Group 4.
A team earns six points for a win, plus between one and five points, depending on what group the team it defeated is in, and a residual point for each win that team has. A team's first eight games count toward its final point total, but the lowest point total among these games is dropped, so seven total games count toward the final tally. The top eight teams in each group qualify for the playoffs. Matchups will be announced next week.
Timber Creek, which has been in first place each week this season, will make the playoffs and has nearly 40 points more than second-place Woodrow Wilson. It visits winless Cherry Hill East (0-7, 24 points) on Saturday, 2:30 p.m. in an effort to complete another undefeated regular season.

Triton’s task is a little tougher, as it hosts Moorestown (7-1 117 points), who will be looking to wrap up first place in Group 4. That game is Friday night, 7 p.m.
Highland’s opponent Bishop Eustace (4-3, 69 points) is in a similar position as it battles for a playoff spot in Non-Public Group 3. Highland hosts that game at 7 p.m. on Friday.
