Reading posts this weekend about Aides getting letters about cutting their hours and their pay got me thinking about Bilodeau and the Board saying one thing and doing the opposite. I mean we hear the broken record from Bilodeau and the Board about how dire the situation is in regards of District finances, programs getting cut, employees getting hours cut, pay cut, and staffing cuts. Yet the Administration of this District makes a new position for councilman Mercado, promotes Acerba to Curriculum Supervisor with a nice pay raise. Acerba, then hires Assistants, more than the department has ever had. Next Acerba, Bilodeau and the Board hire an outside Consultant for $30000 to do Acerba's job developing a new Curriculum for the District. Next Bilodeau and the Board promote Bilodeau's ex Secretary Staff Accountant/ Board Secretary with a new salary of $75000. According to some posts online Bilodeau gets almost $500 a month car allowance and I would guess free gas or a stipend for mileage.
My problem is Bilodeau and the Board want employees to sacrifice to help the District, yet Bilodeau, and the Board continue to spend. give raises and promotions to Administrators and make up new positions for politically connected people.
Bilodeau and the Board want employees and parents to accept cuts in pay, hours and student programs. OK but Mr. Bilodeau and Board members, what sacrifice has the Administration made or all sacrifices made by the Teachers and Support staff and Administrators exempt from sacrifices? It's not enough the way this Board and Administration treats the public at meetings and employees that do their job everyday, but to ask people to make sacrifices and they aren't willing to do the same. Quality leadership leads by example, then there is District leadership, enough said.
