Black Horse Pike Baseball Teams Learn First Round Playoff Opponents

The NJSIAA South jersey Group 3 playoffs begin Monday.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — All three Black Horse Pike Regional School District baseball teams begin their quest for an NJSIAA South Jersey Group 3 championship next week.

Highland Regional opens the tournament at home as the No. 2 seed, according to the bracket posted on nj.com. The Tartans host No. 15 Cumberland Regional in the first round. It will be the third meeting between the teams. Highland defeated Cumberland, 11-0, on April 28. They also played on Thursday.

Highland enters the tournament with a record of 13-5. Cumberland is 6-17. The winner plays the winner of the game between No. 7 Cherry Hill West and No. 10 Ocean City in the second round on May 25.
Triton and Timber Creek will both open play on the road.

Triton is the No. 14 seed and will visit No. 3 Lacey in the first round. Triton is 7-11, and Lacey is 18-4. The winner plays the winner of the game between No. 6 Mainland and No. 11 Pinelands in the second round.

Timber Creek is the No. 16 seed, and will face off with No. 1 Hammonton in Hammonton in the first round. Timber Creek is 6-13, and Hammonton is 13-8. The winner plays the winner of the game between No. 8 Seneca and No. 9 Central Regional in the second round.

The semifinals are set for May 30, and the South Jersey Group 3 title game is scheduled for June 2.
