Black Horse Pike High School Boys Basketball Teams Remain Unbeaten

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — The Highland and Triton regional high school boys basketball teams each improved to 2-0 this week, according to box scores posted on nj.com.

Damolo Dairo and Dante Masino each had double-doubles in Highland’s 90-63 win over Cumberland Regional on Tuesday. Dairo had 17 points, 13 rebounds, two assists and three steals in the win. Masino had 17 points, 11 rebounds, two assists and five steals.

Zafir Bower dropped 16 points, grabbed a rebound, dished out three assists and made two steals. Gabe Villegas had 11 points, two rebounds, three assists and four steals.

Highland was scheduled to host Gloucester Tech on Thursday.

Mike Wright led Triton with 20 points and two rebounds in Triton’s 52-38 win over Delsea on Tuesday. Tyrese Dallas had 12 points, one rebound and seven steals. Colton Cargen had nine points, six rebounds and two assists.

Triton was set to visit Schalick on Thursday.

Wrestling

The Highland Regional High School wrestling team got off to a fast start on Wednesday night with a 69-7 win over Deptford, according to nj.com. The Tartans benefitted from eight forfeit victories.

Justin Cariss pinned Aaron Peters in three minutes, 13 seconds at 132 pounds. Tom Cuffari pinned Nick Tobin in 44 seconds at 145 pounds. Devon Starks pinned Nyle Hearne in 1:26 at 220 pounds.

Girls basketball

The Highland Regional High School girls basketball team picked up its first win of the season with a 37-13 win over Cumberland Regional on Tuesday, according to nj.com. Ayanna Bey led the way with 20 points and 17 rebounds.

Highland is 1-1 and was set to visit Gloucester Tech on Thursday.
