Black Horse Pike School Board Looks To Fill Open Seat

Jill Dawson resigned from the board when she moved out of Gloucester Township earlier this month. A replacement will be named Feb. 20.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — The Black Horse Pike Regional School District is looking to fill an open seat representing Gloucester Township. The seat became open earlier this month when Jill Dawson resigned because she was moving out of the district, according to Business Administrator Frank Rizzo and Superintendent of Schools Brian Repici.

The board will interview candidates at its meeting at 6 p.m. on Feb. 20 at Highland Regional High School. Whoever is appointed to the seat will serve through the Jan. 2021 reorganization meeting. An election for the seat will be held in November.

The Black Horse Pike Regional School District oversees three high schools serving students in Gloucester Township, Bellmawr and Runnemede. In addition to Highland, Timber Creek and Triton regional high schools are in the district.

Seven seats on the school board are allocated to Gloucester Township residents. Board President Kevin McElroy represents Gloucester Township. Other board members representing the township currently listed on the website are Kevin Bucceroni, Joyce W. Ellis, Dawn Leary, Jay McMullin and Jennifer Storer.
