GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — The Centers for Disease Control warned on Tuesday that American schools, businesses, and communities should prepare for the novel coronavirus, but the Black Horse Pike Regional School District has been preparing itself to combat the disease since January.
"Our District Safety Team has put in place action plans since January, which includes our maintenance/custodial staff cleaning all hard surfaces with a hospital grade disinfectant," Black Horse Pike Regional School District Superintendent Brian Repici said. "Our school nursing staff continues to educate themselves about the coronavirus."
Globally, at least 80,000 people have been infected and 2,700 people have died from the new coronavirus, creating a global pandemic, according to the World Health Organization. It is spreading so quickly overseas that infectious disease experts and scientists warn there may be no way to contain it.
