Blackwood Pumpkin Festival Set For Sunday

Friday is the last day for registration in the talent contest.

Gloucester Township, NJ -- Friday, Sept. 30, is the final day to register for the Blackwood Pumpkin Festival’s Talent Contest, sponsored by Mainstage Center for the Arts.

The event takes place Sunday, Oct. 2, in the parking lot behind Academy Hall, 27 South Blackhorse Pike, in the Blackwood section of Gloucester Township.

Performances will be assigned between 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. There are two age groups: 4-10 and 11-18.

The festival, which is in its 25th year, attracts nearly 10,000 people each year.

Heavy pedestrian traffic is expected in the area of the Black Horse Pike (Route 168) and Church Street during the event. Drivers are advised to use caution when in the area and to expect minor delays, Gloucester Township Police said on Friday.
