Camden CC Middle East Course, Lecture Series To Focus On Iran
In light of recent events, a course and a lecture series at Camden County College will both focus on Iran.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — In light of recent events, a course and a lecture series Camden County College will offer this spring will offer a special emphasis on Iran.
The college is offering a course — Topics in History of the Middle East; and a lecture series — Turmoil in the Middle East: Can America Do Anything About It? — in partnership with Penn’s Middle East Center, which includes guest lecturers who are specialists in the region. Both the course and the lecture series are free.
The course will begin with the events of 9/11 and its aftermath, including the impact of the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq as well as historical perspective on countries in the area. It begins on Jan. 22, 6:30 p.m. in Madison 210 on the Blackwood Campus.

The lecture series begins on Feb. 12, 6 p.m. in Civic Hall in the Connector Building on the Blackwood Campus with a discussion of “Turkey and the US: From Alliance Partners to Antagonists.” Other lectures will focus on the impact of Syria’s Civil War; the roles of China, Russia, and Iran.
