Camden County College To Open Coronavirus Test Site Wednesday

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — A drive-through testing site for new coronavirus will open in Camden County on Wednesday, officials announced on Monday.

The testing site on Camden County College’s Blackwood campus will have three operational lanes of traffic for first responders, essential employees and Camden County residents and will operate from noon to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

It will be open in the college’s parking lot, and will be run by the Camden County Freeholder Board and Jefferson Health New Jersey.

The site will not accept drive-ups without an appointment. All visitors must make an appointment and have a prescription from a healthcare provider to be tested. Appointments can be made at 844-542-2273.

On Tuesday, Freeholder Director, Louis Cappelli Jr., Congressman Donald Norcross, Interim President of Jefferson Health New Jersey Brian Sweeney, and Gloucester Township Mayor David Mayer, will go over the details of the testing site.

In addition, to the mobile testing site, Cappelli will provide an update on the county’s overall response to the coronavirus pandemic, including new numbers and other insights into the county’s ongoing efforts.

The Board will be using both a livestream and Facebook Live to deliver the pertinent information to the public at 1:30 p.m. It will stream here and on Camden County’s Facebook page.

“This is part of our efforts to keep building critical infrastructure to fight the virus and provide us with more data to make informed public health decisions,” Camden County Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. said. “Jefferson Health New Jersey has been an important partner in launching this noble initiative, and we appreciate their efforts. These are historic times; our community needs to work together as one unit pulling in the same direction to defeat this virus and get to the other side of this pandemic.”
