Camden County College Recognized As Military Friendly School For Second Straight Year
It earned the 2017 Military Friendly School designation from Victory Media.

Gloucester Township, NJ -- For the second consecutive year, Camden County College has been recognized for its commitment to the military.
It earned the 2017 Military Friendly School designation from Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs, STEM Jobs SM, and Military Spouse.
Institutions earning the Military Friendly School designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from Victory Media’s proprietary survey. More than 1,600 schools participated in the 2017 survey; 1,160 were awarded with the designation.

“Providing outstanding service to our vets is our way of honoring the service and sacrifices they have made on behalf of our nation,” Camden County College President Don Borden said. “We want to do all we can to ensure they have bright futures, as they worked to secure ours.”
“Our ability to apply a clear, consistent standard to the majority of colleges gives veterans a comprehensive view of which schools are striving to provide the best opportunities and conditions for our nation’s student veterans,” Daniel Nichols, a Navy Reserve veteran and Chief Product Officer at Victory Media, said. “Military Friendly helps military families make the best use of the Post-9/11 GI Bill and other federal benefits while allowing us to further our goal of assisting them in finding success in their chosen career fields.”

Camden County College Veterans Services Advisor Zaida Nogue, expressed her gratitude for being honored.
“Our goal is to assist the student veterans to meet their educational goals, but more importantly for them to know we are here for them by providing them with academic and student support,” Nogue said. “The doors at the Office of Veteran Services are always open to assist our student veterans.”
Camden County College will be showcased along with other 2017 Military Friendly Schools in the annual Guide to Military Friendly Schools, special education issues of G.I. Jobs and Military Spouse Magazine, and on militaryfriendly.com.
Several activities are planned for Nov. 17 to highlight veterans and veteran students, beginning at 11 a.m. with the national anthem and pledge of allegiance. The ceremony will include the unveiling of the military honor trees. The honor trees are pre-lit birch trees that will contain ribbons of honor. There will be one on each campus.
The event takes place in Community Center Room 202A of the Blackwood campus, 200 College Drive in the Blackwood section of the township.
